In 1859 Robert Cooper Ready (1811-1901) was charged with producing electrotypes for the British Museum. Together with him, and later as his sucessors, his sons Charles Joseph Ready (1849-1922) and August Papworth Ready (born c. 1857) continued this work. Augustus Ready was in 1897 installed as a restorer by the British Museum. The third son William Talbot Ready (1857-1914) served in a similiar position until 1884, when he contuined his occupation as a dealer. Lit.: H. E.
