Timpf (Tympf), Simon (um 1555-1621)

Father of the mintmasters Simon the Younger, Heinrich, Thomas the Elder, Samuel and Peter Timpf. Grandfather of the mintmasters Andreas and Thomas the younger. Born in Minden.

Mintmaster in Hanau from 1607 to 1611, in (Bremer-)Vörde from 1611 to 1614, in Burg (Fehmarn) from 1612 to 1614, in Stade from 1614 (to 1619), and in Harburg from 1615 to 1619.

Timpf(e) (Tympf) resigned from his posts in 1619 and died in 1621.

Timpf symbol are two crossed Zainhaken (mint master's tools).
