Würth (Wirth), Johann Nepomuk (06.04.1753 - 27.11.1811) |
K. k. Kammermedailleur (Imperial and Royal medalist), Obermünzgraveur (head engraver) and Kunstscholarendirektor (director of the engraver school) in Vienna. Würth was an Austrian engraver and medalist at the Vienna Mint (Hauptmünzamt). His brother was the medalist Franz Xaver Würth. In 1778 Würt was appointed Kammermedailleur and did produce a high number of medals for the Imperial court, including e.g. the one on the birth of archduke Ferdinand in 1793. Lit.: A.
