Name

Lehr, Cyriacus von (um 1590-)

Born around 1590 Halberstadt.

Mintmaster in Meiningen 1620, and in Hohenstein from 1621 to 1622. Appointed Mintmaster in Weimar in 1619, dismissed in 1620.

In October 1618, Prince Ludwig von Anhalt, an advisor to Duke Johann Ernst of Saxe-Weimar, made Lehr an offer for the technical equipment of the envisaged Weimar mint, where machine production was planned from the outset. Von Lehr also signalled his willingness to operate the mint as its mintmaster. He was subsequently appointed as Weimar mintmaster on 4 April 1619. Lehr was not sworn in at the Upper Saxon Probation Day because of the substandard minting planned from the beginning. After Lehr did not deliver the minting quantities expected of him, he was dismissed on 10 February 1620.
