Mintmaster in Saalfeld since 1604 in service of the Duke of Sachsen-Weimar. As of the same year accepted in Coburg as mintmaster, his papers date 31 March 1606. He took his oath on 1 April 1606. Probation confirmed in Frankfurt an der Oder in 1607. According to Kernbach (1996) p. 10 he was mintmaster in Saalfeld for the dukes of Saxony-Altenburg from 1604 to 1619, too. According to von Bethe (1930) pp. 47-48 Albrecht was mintmaster in Saalfeld for the counts of Schwarzburg from 1611 to 1624. But following Grimm (2004) p. 75, Albrecht had already been dismissed in december 1619, for he did not want to violate the rules of the Kreismünzordnung of 1610, and it was not before 1622 that he was reinstalled. Active in Coburg from 1604 to 1619 and 1624 to 1629. From 1 March 1621 until August 1622 also mintmaster for the counts of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt in Leutenberg. He also worked for the princely houses of Sachsen-Altenburg and Reuß. Wolf Albrecht signs with his initials WA, and according to von Bethe (1930) p. 47 he also used a star and stalked trefoil, the latter is for von Bethe the sign of Albrechts Saalfeldian Coinage from the years 1619 to 1620. This is negated by Grimm (2004) p. 75, because it is to be found on coins of both lines from House Schwarzburg from the years 1619 until 1623. Lit.: E.
