Timpf (Tympf), Andreas (1618-1690)

Son of Samuel Timpfe, grandson of Simon Timpf the Elder and brother of the mintmaster Thomas Timpf the Younger.

From 21 June 1641 to 1649 mintmaster in Lüneburg. replaced his uncle Peter in Stade as mintmaster in 1649. In 1650 mintwarden in Rostock, and mintmaster there in 1659 and 1660.

From 1650 to 1660 leaseholder and mintmaster in Frauenstadt (Wadowice), In 1659 general warden of the Cracow mint. From 1660 superintendent of all Royal mints. In 1661 leeseholder of the Cracow mint. From 1661 to 1667 mintmaster in Cracow, Lemberg, and Bromberg. Timpfe left Poland for Pommeria in 1667.

The Polish denomination of 18 Groschen (Tympf) was named after him.
