The Leitz company was founded by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar in 1869. It was one of the leading suppliers of microscopes and, from 1924, cameras as well. In 1941 the Leitzwerke donated a medal in honor of Ernst Leitz junior and senior by Hermann Lickfeld to the Münzkabinett Berlin. |
