Krug, Hans the Elder (um 1455-1519) |
Goldsmith in Nürnberg (Nuremberg), master's privilege of 1484. Krug was appointed by the city's council to cut dies for coins and held the office of mintmaster until 1509. There are reports, that he did produce dies and struck coins (with approval of the council) for the Elector of Saxony and the King of Hungary. Lit.: R.
