Einkorn, Gregor (1500-1569) |
Gregor Einkorn (or Ainkhurn). 1525 in charge of the mint at Nördlingen, he later was appointed mintmaster in Augsburg. In service of Philipp von Hessen and mintmaster for the Duchy of Braunschweig (Brunswick) in Münden. Mintmaster in Goslar during the siege of the Schmalkalden war (1542-1547). Then in Wernigerode, Stolberg and Schleusingen, 1547 in Arnstadt. Finally appointed mintmaster in Saalfeld on 29 January 1551 to end of 1566. Einkorn died in 1569 in Erfurt. Lit.: L.
