Name

Adams, W.

According to Davis (1904) a certain Webster Adams, pipe-maker at Currer’s Lane, Ipswich. Waters (1957) on the other hand considers it rather rare for such small a business to have issued tokens, and identifies W. Adams as the grocer W. Adams, who filed for bankrupcty in 1814. Withers (2010) agree to the latter view.

Adams issued tokens in 1811/1812.
