Name

M. Aur. Philetos Hippikos

Strategos and magistrate in Smyrna/Ionien during the joint reign of Valerianus I and Gallienus between AD 253 and 260.

His name appears combined with his title of strategos and lacking it.

His name always comes with the parts of Philetos and Hippikos (the latter is interpreted by some as a proper name and by others, e. g. Klose (1987) p. 73 n. 433 as rank indicating his status of being a Roman knight (eques), and mostly with his title of strategos. His first names M(arcus) Aur(elius) only appear once.
