Daniel Mewes (or Mebes). Mintmaster in Gerbstedt(Saxony-Anhalt, appointed in May 1621 for a period of three years.. Before the mint was closed on 11 February 1622 he fled while taking all the tools with him and leaving huge debts behind. Lit.: O.
