Riedel, Jonas |
Born 1582 in Bayreuth. Riedel (Rüdel) in 1612 was a secretary for the military in Bayreuth. From 1621 Riedelworked closely together with Hans Rentsch, another mint-master, with whom he operated the mints in Kulmbach, Bayreuth and Erlangen. In November 1621 they bought the upper-palatinate mint in Amberg from the mint-master Nikolaus Fischer, who bought it back on 10.01.1622. Afterwards Riedel delivered metall to the new mint-masters of Amberg. The last known record ist from 1624 at Kulmbach. Lit.: E. Götz, Die Münzprägungen der Oberpfalz (1992) pp. 163-164. |
