Person

Name

Neuberger, Hans

Mintmaster in Amberg and Erlangen in 1622.

Born in Sondershausen. Neuberger came to Amberg as a anhaltinian chamberlain to Amberg, where he was granted the citizenship in 1611 and became city councilman in 1612. In 1622 Neuberger is attested as a wine-dealer and innkeeper.

His daughter was married to the mint-master Georg Riedel, with whom he bought the Amberg mint in January 1622 which he led until 23.3.1622. In the treasurer's records only Neuberger is listed as a mintmaster. In May 1622 Neuberger bought the mint in Erlangen together with the mintmasters Georg Riedel and Georg Kellner.

Neuberger was arrested on 12.7.1622 in Amberg for exporting silver out of the Upper-Palatinate, but was released in the end of 1622.
