Reinhart, Dr. h.c. Alfred |
Son of Paul Reinhart, one of the owners of the company Paul Reinhart & Cie., a producer of cotton in Winterthur. Reinhart resided in and Le Havre. He moved to Alexandria in 1896, and from 1911 ran his own company, which expanded to Boston and Manchester after World War One. Reinhart owned an estate of some 170 hectars in El-Hawaber in the delta of the Nile. Reinhart was active as a patron and philanthropist, and was in 1913 given an honorary doctorate by Zurich University. He died while on vacation in his home at Hausen am Albis in 1935. Donation to the Münzkabinett Winterthur in 1921. |
