Röthling, Johann Andreas |
Röthling was working as a mintmaster from c. spring 1621 until the end of this year respectively the beginning of 1622 for Prince Johann Casimir of Anhalt Dessau at the mint of Dessau. At the beginning Röthling alone was responsible for minting, but on 7 October 1621 Röthling signed a contract with the previous warden of the mint, Simon Voigt, wherein they agreed that Voigt will be in charge of the whole mint from now on and will be the one who pays the salaries of the people working at the mint. However, Röthling seems to be active in the Dessau mint also after the signign of the contract, now working for Voigt. Lit.: H.
