Harnisch, Joseph (1783-1849)

Die-engraver.

Coin and medal engraver at the k.k. Hauptmünzamt (Imperial an Royal Central Mint) in Vienna during the reign of Ferdinand I.

Harnisch was born in 1783. From 1802 he worked in Kremnitz, and from 1833 as an assistant engraver at the Viennese mint from 1833.

He died in Vienna in 1849.

Together with Joseph Daniel Böhm Harnisch worked, among other things, on the distribution jetons for the Austrian hereditary homage in Vienna in 1835.
