Steinböck, Oswald G. (04.08.1813 - 28.05.1870) |
Austrian medalist and die-engraver. Steinböck was born in Vienna in 1813 and worked as a private engraver in Salzburg. In 1837 he applied for a trainee engraver's position at the k.k. Hauptmünzamt (Imperial an Royal Central Mint) in Vienna. Steinböck produced a medal in 1847 for the unveiling of the altar with the mosaic picture of the Last Supper by Giacomo Raffaelli in the Minorite Church in Vienna. Lit.: A. Mayr, Kaiser Ferdinand I.
