Kříž, Václav (1830-1881)

Medalist.

Kříž was born in Slivenec in 1830 and became a student of Wenzel Seidan, who worked as a private engraver in Prague.

He later worked as a private engraver in Prague.

Kříž created a medal for the death of Emperor Ferdinand I in 1875. The medal was designed by him based on a print with the portrait of the deceased emperor. The portrait had appeared in the Czech magazine Světozor in 1874 and was therefore well known to the public.

Kříž died in Prague in 1881.
