Person GND

Name

Winterstein, Matthias

Originally from Nordhausen, a tailor by profession.

Mintmaster in Allstedt from 20 July 1622 to November 1622.

As Winterstein personally only had little capital of his own, he took financial support from Michael Triller, doctor of both rights, who provided the sum of 434 Zähltalers and 1,000 Reichstalers in specie necessary for the business. Winterstein's contract was initially limited to four weeks. He flees Allstedt in one night in November 1622, leaving behind debts and taking 300 Talers with him.
