Dachauer, Prof. Wilhelm (05.04.1881 - 26.02.1951)

Austrian painter and graphic artist.

Dachauer studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1899 to 1907 and was also a professor there from 1927 to 1945. Dachauer is best known for his design of postage stamps.

During the Nazi era, he designed numerous stamps of the German Reich. Dachauer's designs include the 100-schilling banknote of 1927 and the 20-schilling banknote of 1928.
