Pick, Prof. Behrendt (21.12.1861 - 04.05.1940) |
German numismatist and archaeologist. Director of the Münzkabinett in Gotha (from 1893 its head, from 1896 officially its director). Pick from 1888 to 1893 worked at the University in Zurich, and became a professor in in 1891. Pick was awarded the medal of the Royal Numismatic Society in 1935. Because of his Jewish faith Pick was forced to retire in 1934, and commited suicide in Berlin in 1940. Lit.: P.
