Die-engraver and medalist. Stockmar used to work for the former Counts of Wertheim in the mint located there as of 1767. Appointed mint warden on 15 November 1785. He signs with his initials S, ST, C ST, C STOCKMAR. Stockmar died in 1802. Lit.: Thieme-Becker XXXII (1938) p. 79. |
