Sculptor. Appointed die-engraver in Berlin 17 April 1838.

Held died in the following year.

Worked as a medallist and engraver at the Berlin medal mint Loos. He made reliefs in bronze and modelled in wax and clay. From 1828 to 1839 Held exhibited at the Berlin academy. His works include medals for the Bohemian coronation of Emperor Ferdinand I and Maria Anna in 1836. For a medal for the coronation of Emperor Ferdinand I as King of Lombardo-Venetia in Milan in 1838 he created the obverse, the medallist Carl Christoph Pfeuffer the reverse.
