Keusell (Küsel), Steffen |
Son of the mintmaster Heinrich Keusell (Küsel/Küssel/Keussel/Keussell/Kiessel/ Keusell), younger brother of the mintmaster Henning Keusell (Küsel). His family name is spelled in several ways by our sources. The autograph of his brother Henning clearly gives the name as Keusell. Mintmaster in Meinsdorf from 5 May 1621 until presumably the middle of 1622 mintmaster for the Princes of Anhalt-Zerbst. Steffen Keusell signs with his initials S-K. In addition, Thorman (1993/94) identifies a spinner standing on its head (Küsel) as his personal symbol. Lit.: H.
