19947 Private Leonard Ford, Kings's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry). Born in Horsham, Sussex. Ford joined the military in Doncaster. He was killed in action during the battle of the Somme on 18 September 1916. His name appears among the fallen lacking a proper grave at the Thiepval Memorial Pier, and Face 11 C and 12 A. His military record mentions under decorations 0/2/103139 p. 1010 the Victory Medal. |
