	A. Doepler had acquired coins in the 1827 auction sale of Beireis for 2,000 Talers. See Numismatische Zeitung. Blätter für Münz-, Wappen- und Siegel-Kunde (Weißensee i. Thür.) 5, 1838, p. 160. Morgenblatt für Gebildete Leser 19, 1838, p. 396, reports the death of A. Doepler who owned a huge collection of coins on 31 August 1838. Mr Weidhas, a Berlin coin dealer, sold coins from this collection to the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1841. Previously a Mr Doepler (presumably A.
