Son of the Nuremberg coin dealer and numismatist Carl Friedrich Gebert (who died in 1919). Gebert contuinued his father's business after 1919 until 1945. Because of bomb damage during the war business activities were quite limited. The company reopened in 1949. Literature on father and son: J. Hackl, NNB 1988, pp. 302-313, 327-332. |
