His name appears on bronze coins of this city lacking any title.

A Theondas is mentioned by Livy 45,5,6 and 12 as eponymous highest magistrate in this city, the basileus, who in 168 BC was involved in negotiations with Roman representatives and the Macedonian king Perseus, who had fled the county following his defeat by the Romans.
