Reich, John (Johann Matthias) (1768-1833) |
German medalist, originally from Fürt. Emigrated to the US in 1800. Reich became a die-engraver at the US mint in 1801, and was its second engraver from 1807 to 1817. Reich was born in Fürth/Germany, and son of Johann Christian Reich. Reich died in 1833. Lit.: L. Forrer, Biographical Dictionary of Medallists V (1912) p. 72. |
