A certain M. Valerius Carminius Claudianus appears as son of the City on coins of Attuda/Caria during the reign of Antoninus Pius. He obviously is the same individual named as Carminius Claudianus on coins between AD 161 and 169, partially with the addition of the title of asiarches. He is possibly identical with (M. Val.) Carminius Claudianus, who between AD 193 and 211 appears as an asiarches, and between AD 198 and 209 appears on coins lacking a title. Lit.: W.
