A term used for various early modern denominations. The German Reich with laws of Dec 4th 1871 and July 9th 1873 resp. introduced the Mark = 100 Pfenninge as the main curreny based on the gold standard. Replaced on Oct 15th 1923 by the Rentenmark (although the gold standard was abolished already with the beginning of WWI). |
