Mader, Andreas Evaristus (09.01.1881 - 13.03.1949) |
Andreas Evaristus Mader was head of the excavations in Mamre/Palastine from 1926 to 1928. From 1927 to 1930 Mader was the director of the Oriental Institute of the Görres-Society in Jerusalem. In Mamre about 1,331 Münzen were found. About a third were given to Alfons Maria Schneider at some point. About 100 Arabic and Ottoman coins were given to a Museum in Jerusalem. The fate of the remainder (mostly of the time of Constantine the Great) is unfortunately unknown. See E. Mader, Mambre. Die Ergebnisse der Ausgrabungen im Heiligen Bezirk Râmet el-Ḫalîl in Südpalästina 1926-1928, text volume (1957) pp. 166-182. |
