Yeo, Richard (um 1720-03.12.1779) |
British medalist. Appointed assistant engraver at the Royal mint in 1749. Became successor to John Sigismund Tanner as Chief engraver in 1775. He signs with his initials R YEO resp. YEO or variants. Yeo died in 1779. Yeo's small collection of coins and medals plus minting tools and equipment was auctioned after his death in 1780. Lit.: L.
