| Name | Quendel, Wilhelm |
| A certain Wilhelm Quendel appears as mintmaster in Allstedt/Saxony from end of March to 24 April 1623 and from 10th to 23rd June 1621 in Lützen/Saxony. Is is not confirmed beyond any doubt that these two individual are actually the same, but style and mintmaster symbol do point to this conclusion. Wilhelm Quendel appeared earlier in Kassel/Hessia in 1620, and later in 1627 in Moisburg/Lower Saxony, and from 1627 to 1629 in Harburg/Lower Saxony as a mintmaster. Rahnenführer (1963) concludes that all these minmasters represent the same individual. See the entry for Wilhelm Quensel (Quensell). Quendel's symbol is a cross made of four Ls. Lit.: E. Rahnenführer, Die kursächsischen Kippermünzen (1963) pp. 74-75. | |
