Magistrate in Thurioi/Lucania, c. 3rd cent. BC. His name (abbreviated as ΣΩ) is known from coins in Hellenistic times, see N. K. Rutter, Historia Numorum. Italy (2001) no. 1929. It is combined with another abbreviation (ΦΙ), probably referring to only one individual: ΣΩΦΙ[λος] / Sophilos (compare ibid. no. 1926). Lit.: W.
