Senator Dr. Ernst Fischer, Freiburg im Breisgau, Bürgerwehrstr. 15. Fischer owned a drugstore in Weinheim until 1913, after moving to Freiburg im Breisgau, he served as the district's find officer. In 1936 Fischer became honorary senator of the University of Heidelberg. Since 1939 the Fischer collection with 1,426 documents, letters and archives has been located there. Fischer himself published some pieces from his collection. The collection contains documents from the early 14th to the late 19th century, including the remains of the archives of the Imperial Counts of Ingelheim and the Echter von Mespelbrunn family. In 1940, the Münzkabinett Berlin bought 40 of his historical coin posters. Lit.: E. Fischer, Aus den Tagen unserer Ahnen.
