	Born on 23 February 1580 in Stuttgart, died on 20 June 1635 (Julian calender) at the same place. According to MMLO (G. Schön) son of the Stuttgart mint-warden Caspar Distler (1550-1595) and grandson of the Regensburg mintmaster Hans Distler (1510-1562). From 1616 until his death in 1635 Matthias Distler was mintmaster for the Dukes of Württemberg in Stuttgart, from the same year also general mint-warden of the Swabian district, presumably also until his death.
