Hellmann, Roman (03.01.1921 - 12.05.2012)

Designer and graphic artist.

Hellmann studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1938 to 1948 and then worked as a freelance graphic artist. He received commissions for the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Cultural Office of the City of Vienna.

From 1950 onwards, he took part in numerous design competitions and worked for the Oesterreichische Nationalbank as chief designer from 1952 onwards.

Among other things, he designed all the designs for Austrian Schilling notes between 1956 and 1972.
