Austrian medalist and die-engraver. Father of Georg Leisek (1869-1936). After training at the trade mark school at the Polytechnic Institute, Leisek did work at the Vienna Main Mint from 1858 to 1892. His son J. Leisek was also employed as an die-engraver in Vienna. F. Leisek produced numerous coins and medals, e.g. for the Round Table of the Viennese Numismatic Society, 1896, portraits of Francis Josef I on the silver coins from 1872 to 1892, medal for the wedding of Crown Prince Rudolf with Stéphanie of Belgium, 1881, medal of the Vienna World's Fair for Good Taste, 1873, medal for the city of Budapest for the silver wedding of Francis Josef I with Elisabeth, 1879, and many more.
