A member of the Zurich based families Schulthess-Rechberg (father) and Bodmer (mother).

Coin collector. Schulthess-Rechberg-Paravicini built several important coin collections and was the heir of the coin collection formed in the 19th centuty by the Zurich branch of his family.

His numismatic collections were sold partly anonymous, partly under the initials ESR starting in 1961. The quite huge collection of Swiss coins, likely the most importnat one in private hands, was sold between 2001 and 2007 as the Sammlung Schweiz collection.
