Pick, Franz (1750-1819) |
Canonicus Franz Pick. Coin collector. His collection was sold in an auction following his death in 1819 and purchased by the newly founded Bonn University for 1,500 Francs. On 27 August 1819 all of Pick's Roman coins (5 gold, 500 silver, and c. 2,000 in bronze) were acquired. The majority of these coins originate from find in the area of Bonn, especially from the nearby Roman legionary camp. |
