Bohemian pharmacist and chemist. Batka sold the semi-precious metal Selenium, discovered by the chemist Johann (Jöns) Jakob Berzelius in 1817, through his company Wenzel Batka in Prague, initially in the form of Berzelius busts and later in the form of Berzelius medals. |
