Stutz, Conrad (1580/82-1662) |
Die-cutter and mintmaster from mid-July 1621 to the early February 1622 in Fürth. Stutz signs with his initials CS and the Fürth cloverleaf. He also used various forms of a lily or rose as his emblem, derived from his family coat of arms ("In gold on a green triple mountain a black lily between two golden seeded red roses with green sepals, green stem and three green leaves"). Again appointed mintmaster on 23 December 1622 (to 1632). In service of Brandenburg-Bayreuth from 1629/30 to 1633. Relocated his residence from Fürth to Würzburg in 1632, returning in 1637. Mintmaster in Würzburg from 1632 to 1636, and again from 1643 to 1652. Stutz died in 1662. Lit.: J. Hackl - D. O. A.
