Posch, Leonhard (07.11.1750 - 01.07.1831)

Sculptor and medalist, born in Vienna.

From 1804 to 1810 and 1814 to 1831 Posch was working in Berlin.

In 1908 the Münzkabinett Berlin received Posch's bequest of 1,900 cast moulds and several models in stone, wax, and lead, under the Acc. 1908/582.

This bequest had been in the possseion of the Berliner Medaillen-Münze company Otto Oertel and was purchased with the help of Geheimer Regierungsrat Dr. J. Rosenthal, owner of the Berlin bank company Koenen & Compagnie, who had donated 10,000 Marks.
