Memmius Marcus |
Magistrate in Byzantium/Thrace, who is mentioned on coins for Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius, Commodus, and Lucilla. Philostratos (vit. soph. 1,24) mentions one Marcus of Byzantion. It is not clear whether this Memmius Marcus is this person. The honorary term Heros of c. AD 175 was presumably added after his death. Lit.: B.
