Person

Name

Bernhard, Dr. Oscar (24.05.1861 - 14.11.1939)

Swiss physician.

Son in law and heir of Friedrich Imhoof-Blumer (1838-1920).

Upon Imhoof's death Bernhard-Imhoof took over his collection of coins, and sold a part of it to the Münzkabinett Berlin in 1928, who in 1900 already had purchased Imhoof-Blumer's first collection of ancient coins.

The remaining part of the Imhoof collection was given to the Münzkabinett Winterthur by his heirs in 1952.

Oscar Bernhard never used the name Oscar Bernhard-Imhoof himself.
