Bohl, Johann Jakob (13.12.1785 - 28.06.1851) |
Numismatist and coin dealer in Trier. From 1806 to 1815 Bohl was employed at the French prefecture, and retired in 1841. Bohl collected coins since 1811. He arranged for the purchase of the Prince Isenburg collection by the Münzkabinett Berlin, and there is an inventory of Bohl's coin from Spain, dated 5 March 1841, copied from the cabinet's accession book. On 22 November 1860 the Berlin cabinet acquired Bohl's collection of 2,280 coin of Trier. Bohl's manuscripts are today kept in the archive of the Münzkabinett Berlin. Lit.: Pinder (1951) p.
