Borrell, Henry Perigal (1795-02.10.1851) |
British merchant, numismatist, and collector. Based in Smyrna since 1818. Borrell's father was a Swiss clockmaker, who during the 1790ies had emigrated to London. He was a friend and teacher in numismatics to Anton Prokesch von Osten, who highly praised his knowledge. His collection was auctioned in 1851/52 by Sotheby's, his library in 1853.
