Collector, dealer/agent and restorer. Doubleday worked for the British Museum from 1836 to 1856. Coins from Doubleday's collection were acquired by C. R. Fox in 1848 and 1856 and later entered the Münzkabinett Berlin's holdings when Fox's collection was bought in 1873. |
